Two significant developments\u00a0in spine surgery over the past 30 years\u00a0have been\u00a0the transition from traditional open spine surgery to minimally invasive surgery and the advent of ultra-minimally invasive surgery.<\/p>\n

Development of MISS Tubular Retractors<\/h2>\n

Minimally invasive spine surgery allows surgeons to use metal tubular retractors with\u00a01- to 2-inch\u00a0incisions instead of\u00a03- to 5-inch\u00a0large open incisions with traditional open surgery.<\/p>\n
